Papier? Exhibit Vernissage
Atelier Circulaire 5445 Av. de Gaspé #105
Printmaking is constantly evolving, driven by new concerns and technologies. While paper remains a central medium, its obviousness is challenged here. This edition of Atelier Circulaire’s annual members exhibition invites a renewed curiosity towards the practices we inherit in printmaking. How might we heighten our awareness of the materials we take for granted? The exhibition “Papier?” explores what happens to printmaking when it breaks free from this medium, opening itself up to diverse materials such as textiles, leather, and video. By removing this familiar support, it invites us to rethink the materiality, processes, and presentation of artworks. This constraint becomes a driving force for experimentation, encouraging innovative approaches and a renewed attention to space, transformation, and the multiple possibilities of printmaking.
